Lateen
Gentle soul. Treat enthusiast. Dignified companion.
Lateen’s name means “so beautiful”—and with his shimmering silver coat and stunning golden eyes, it couldn’t be more fitting. But his beauty is more than fur deep. He’s an affectionate yet independent boy, dignified in demeanor but always ready to greet you with quiet sweetness.
His Personality:
Lateen enjoys attention and will happily lean in for chin scratches, pets, and playtime—though he prefers keeping his paws on the ground rather than being picked up. He’s curious, people-oriented, and enjoys a calm environment where he can shine at his own pace. A treat bowl is his favorite destination, and he’ll happily take long “walks” to check if it’s been filled just for him.
Though friendly, Lateen also values his independence. With other cats, he can be playful but sometimes pushy, so he’s happiest as the only feline star of the home. Loud noises can unsettle him, but in a peaceful space, his affectionate nature blossoms.
Ideal Match:
Lateen would thrive in a calm, loving home—whether with a first-time cat adopter or an experienced cat lover who appreciates his mix of affection and independence. Respectful children would make great companions, as long as they honor his dignified style. He’s best suited as a solo cat, where his golden-eyed charm can take center stage.
Why Lateen?
Because he’s beautiful inside and out. Because he’s ready to greet you, play with you, and curl up near you with quiet devotion. And because after being left behind once, Lateen is more than ready to give his heart to a family who will keep him forever.
Rescue Story
I was very much enjoying my life with my family. I had safety and all the things a kitty needed. My humans had a baby and decided that us kitties weren’t welcome. A kind lady rescued us in hopes of protecting us and helping us get to the United States where we could find our forever homes. I am so thankful to be going to a new life and long for a home where I will be loved and can show what a good friend that I am. (via a rescuer friend in Kuwait)
