Guinness- Available for Adoption

My Story

Guinness came from Illinois, we aren’t sure what circumstances led him to rescue in April, but we are glad he was out of whatever situation he was in. He clearly had a hard start to his life, since at least April, he had been missing his left front paw. He clearly was at an extreme disadvantage and at some point on his journey, he was likely bitten by another cat which transmitted FIV to Guinness.

Despite his upbringing, he is the sweetest most affectionate boy you may ever meet. He patiently waits for his next visitor and treats them all the same. He hobbles over to you in hopes your hand will meet his head. He tries to be a lap kitty but he is still working on balance when getting onto you. He is currently on activity restriction due to his healing surgery site and does not have access to cat trees, but many kitties with three legs learn to navigate these in time.

He could technically go to a home with other cats, but it is safest for him to go to a home with dogs or no other cats. FIV can be spread through deep puncture wounds, if the cats get along transmission is highly unlikely. There is still a risk incase they ever fight resulting in a deep puncture wound. Cuddling/grooming, sharing water/food bowls or the litter box are not typically associated with disease transmission. Please reach out to us with any questions regarding Guinness.
