Lessons from Blue
Her story changed us. Now it can help others.
Blue was 19 years old when she was abandoned outside our doors.
At an age when she should have been resting in her favorite spot at home, she found herself confused, frail, and alone.
Upon discovering her outside on the sidewalk, we gave her comfort — soft blankets, gentle hands, and love she should never have gone without. She purred, ate a little, and slept peacefully.
The next day, we took her to our amazing vet and sang to the sweet girl who was not given the goodbye she deserved - but surrounded by the love of a stranger…and then, she was gone.
Blue’s story is heartbreaking, but it is also a reminder. A reminder that cats deserve dignity, and people facing hard circumstances deserve support. Lessons from Blue is our promise to provide both.
What We Learned From Blue
Her story taught us that sometimes abandonment is born not of cruelty, but of desperation. Families may face illness, financial hardship, or other struggles that make them feel like they have no choice. Blue taught us to look deeper — and to offer compassion, not judgment.
