My Story

Goldie: A Heart‑Deep Q&A

Goldie’s world changed suddenly, but her gentle heart never did. After losing the only home she’d ever known, she stepped into rescue unsure and a little shaken — and with kindness, she blossomed into the soft, affectionate girl she truly is. Now she’s ready to tell her story.

Q: Goldie, what was it like when you realized you were losing your home?
A: It felt like the ground disappeared beneath me. One day everything was familiar — the smells, the sounds, the routines — and then suddenly none of it was mine anymore. I didn’t understand why. I just knew I was being let go, and I had no voice in any of it. It’s a strange kind of sadness, losing a place you thought was forever.

Q: What did it feel like when rescuers stepped in?
A: Relief… but also disbelief. I was scared and unsure, but the moment they reached for me with gentle hands, something inside me loosened. It was the first time I felt chosen again. Safe again. Wanted again.

Q: How did you adjust once you were rescued?
A: At first, I was cautious — not because I didn’t want love, but because I wasn’t sure if it would stay. But kindness has a way of melting fear. Every soft word, every gentle touch helped me unfold. Before long, I was cuddling, purring, and leaning into affection like I’d been waiting for it.

Q: What do you love most about people now?
A: Their presence. Their warmth. The way they make me feel like I belong. I love sitting close, brushing against legs, curling up beside someone who wants me there. I’m a quiet soul, but my heart is big, and I love deeply once I feel safe.

Q: What brings you joy?
A: Wand toys — they wake up the playful spark inside me. I get excited, focused, alive. And afterward, I love settling into a soft spot near my human, letting the calm return.

Q: What do you hope your future family understands about you?
A: That I’m gentle, trusting, and full of love — but I’m also a little girl who’s been through sudden change. I warm up quickly, but I treasure stability. I want a home where I don’t have to wonder if I’ll be moved again. A place where affection is steady and kindness is real.

Q: What kind of home are you dreaming of?
A: One where I can stay close to my humans, feel safe, and be loved for the soft, affectionate girl I am. A home that sees me not as a burden or an afterthought, but as family.

Q: If you could tell your future person one thing, what would it be?
A: I’m ready to love you with my whole heart — I just need someone who won’t let go of mine.
