My Story
A Letter From Lilly
Dear Future Family,
My name is Lilly, and before I tell you who I am now, I want to tell you where I came from because it’s the reason I love as deeply as I do.
I was found on an ordinary day, curled up alone on the street with no mother to protect me. I was tiny, terrified, and chased away by older cats who didn’t want me near them. But the moment someone reached out, I ran straight into their arms like I already knew I was safe. I went from trembling on a cold street to purring in warm arms in seconds—and I’ve been choosing love ever since.
Now that I’m safe, warm, and growing into myself, let me tell you who I am.
I’m about seven months old, a sleek little black kitty with a heart that’s somehow bigger than my whole body. They say black cats bring good luck—well, I plan to bring love, too. I’m curious about everything, always ready to chase a toy, investigate a crinkle, or tilt my head at something interesting. And when I’m really excited, I do a tiny happy hop. I don’t mean to—it just happens.
But as much as I love to play, what I love most is being close to you. I’m not just a lap cat—I’m a “wherever‑you‑are‑is-my-favorite-place” cat. If you’re watching a movie, I’ll curl into your lap like a warm velvet noodle. If you’re sleeping, I’ll tuck myself quietly into the crook of your arm. My purr is soft and steady, like a tiny engine warming your heart.
I don’t need much. Just kindness, a warm lap, and someone who enjoys having a little shadow following them with quiet devotion.
I’ve already chosen love once. Now I’m waiting—quietly, hopefully—for the moment you look at me and feel that same quiet click in your heart. I’ll be ready the second you say yes.
With all my tiny-but-mighty love,
Lilly
